Loren Trimble, the Chief Executive Officer of international management consultancy AArete, has been named one of the world’s top CEOs in the global consulting industry.
It was back in 2008 when Loren Trimble founded AArete. Already a leader at Huron Consulting Group, he saw an opportunity to blend strategic advisory and consulting services with digital and analytics in the healthcare space so he led a split from Huron to launch AArete.
Today, AArete is an award-winning consultancy with a team of nearly 400 consultants, data scientists and staff, serving clients across several sectors, including healthcare, government, consumer goods, financial services, retail, technology and transportation & logistics. AArete specialises in business consulting, profitability improvement, operational excellence, data analytics and technology build and implementation.
Loren Trimble is described by those that know him well as someone that “lives and breathes his passion for excellence”. At AArete, he leads the firm’s strategic direction, go to market strategy and execution, a number of large accounts, and is at the core of AArete’s Knowledge Management Center. The consulting firm has five offices in the US (headquartered in Chicago), and three abroad (London, Hyderabad and Pune).
In his work with clients, Loren Trimble specialises in strategic cost reduction, revenue optimization, pre- and post-merger valuation and synergy integrations, and advanced data analytics, with a focus on clients in the following industries: healthcare (provider and payer), pharmaceutical and life sciences, as well as higher education, distribution, consumer products, and business services.
Loren Trimble started his career at Arthur Andersen, where he worked for 16 years, after which he was one of the co-founders of Huron Consulting Group. At Huron, he latterly led the firm’s Strategic Sourcing practice.
Reflecting on his decision to launch AArete, he said: “We took the wonderful things we learned from Arthur Andersen and the wonderful things that we learned from Huron and we set out to build AArete to last. We wanted to do things better than what we’ve seen in the past. We felt like there was a gap in what firms were offering and what clients needed. We felt like they needed to react faster in the marketplace than what the big firms were able to do. So we set out to bring that solution to the market, and I think we did.”
Alongside his consulting work, Loren Trimble has authored numerous thought leadership pieces and article on business topics. He serves as a member on the Boards for the Center for Healthcare Innovation and the Friendship Senior Options Foundation.
Loren Trimble holds a Masters of Business Administration from The University of Chicago and a Bachelor of Accounting from The University of Iowa.
