Ankura buys data analytics firm Noragh Analytics

Consulting firm Ankura has acquired Noragh Analytics, a boutique data analytics consulting firm based in Alexandria, VA.

Founded in 2011 by William Flanagan, Jr., a retired four-star admiral in the US Navy, Noragh helps government and commercial clients leverage analytic and data management technology to transform business processes, prevent fraud, and predict patterns and outcomes. The firm’s proprietary platforms gather both structured and unstructured data from internal and external into comprehensive data networks and utilize AI, machine learning, and graph analytics to drive useful insights.

Noragh’s work has included working with insurance clients to provide real-time analytics and prevent hundreds of millions of dollars in fraud.

The firm has more than 15 employees, according to LinkedIn.Ankura buys data analytics firm Noragh AnalyticsAnkura’s purchase of Noragh will strengthen its data and technology practice and expand its ability to generate key insights from big data to deliver solutions to complex client issues, according to press release from the Washington, DC-based management consultancy.

The deal arrives three months after Ankura received a minority investment from HPS Investment Partners. Ankura also in November acquired McLarty Associates, a Washington, DC-based commercial diplomacy firm, adding a team of nearly 100 professionals.

Ankura recently appointed its largest senior managing director class ever.
