Atos acquires data consultancy Miner & Kasch

Global IT consultancy Atos has acquired Miner & Kasch, a Baltimore-based firm specializing in data science consulting.

Miner & Kasch was founded in 2015 and offers big data platform architecture and data science consulting to clients across industries, including healthcare, financial services, and energy. The firm has full-stack expertise in big data technology platforms such as Hadoop, Spark, and Cassandra, and supports clients across product development, advisory consultation, and professional training.

Atos’ acquisition of the firm will enhance its big data and AI consulting practice, Atos zData, which was formed out of the 2017 acquisition of US big data consulting and solutions firm zData. The move enhances the practice’s data engineering capabilities and data science-as-a-service offering, which will now boast more than 100 AI consultants.

Atos zData has more than 154 clients and has executed 1000+ use cases. Its technology partners include AWS, Google Cloud, and Microsoft Azure. The practice’s data platform services help clients enhance their operations, with key capabilities such as predictive maintenance to reduce costs and video analytics to secure spaces.

We continue to aid customers in the journey to becoming self-sufficient in their data practice, helping them create real-world solutions to efficiently execute business goals,” said founders Donald Miner and Niels Kasch.

Atos last year acquired Maven Wave, a Chicago-based consultancy specializing in Google Cloud integrations for large companies.
