Ethan Bach tapped to lead Baker Tilly’s innovation and solutions

Veteran management consultant Ethan Bach has been appointed as Baker Tilly Virchow Krause’s managing partner of innovation and solutions. He will remain based in the accounting and consulting firm’s Chicago headquarters.

In the new role, Bach will work to integrate and scale the firm’s solutions, propel innovation, and optimize the development and delivery process.

Bach has more than 25 years of management consulting experience, with the last 18 years spent at Baker Tilly. He most recently served as the head of the firm’s consulting practice, leading client services across areas such as strategy execution, business process improvement, and IT strategy and implementation.

Bach joined Baker Tilly in 2002 as a principal in the consulting practice, helping build out the practice over the next 18 years. He completed numerous engagements in growth and customer experience strategy, enterprise transformation, technology strategy, and sales, marketing, and service effectiveness.

“Ethan is a forward-thinking leader to guide the development of services that anticipate our clients’ changing needs,” Alan Whitman, Baker Tilly CEO, said.

Prior to joining Baker Tilly, Bach was a manager in Arthur Andersen Business Consulting (now Accenture), where he worked on projects in CFO and CIO services, cost management, and ERP. He started his career at PwC, where he was a consultant in the firm’s public utilities group.

He holds a bachelor’s degree in business administration from the Wisconsin School of Business.

“Helping our clients adapt to disruption and prepare for their futures requires us to be highly in tune to constant changes in the market,” Bach said. “I’m excited to lead our firm in this direction as we help our clients seize new opportunities and tackle their toughest challenges.”

Baker Tilly also this month announced the appointment of 23 new partners across its assurance, tax, and consulting services lines.

“Our new partners embody our values of collaboration, integrity, passion and stewardship,” Whitman said. “We are proud of each new partner and look forward to their leadership as we create the advisory CPA firm of the future.”
