FTI Consulting buys TMT strategy consulting firm Delta Partners

Five weeks after the first rumours surfaced, FTI Consulting has confirmed it has acquired a large part of Delta Partners. 

Delta Partners is a leading telecom, media & technology focused consulting and investment banking firm with offices in Dubai (headquarters), New York, Singapore, Barcelona, Johannesburg, San Francisco and Sydney. Around 150 consultants, including 21 senior managing directors, will join FTI Consulting’s ranks, with a small part of Delta Partners’ assets remaining independent. 

“We are delighted to welcome this group of outstanding professionals,” said Steven Gunby, President and Chief Executive Officer of FTI Consulting on the deal, which comes one year after the US-headquartered firm ramped up its presence in Germany with the bolt-on of Andersch.

The two consulting firms had previously worked together on “several projects” said Gunby, stating “we have seen the expertise, value and integrity they bring to their clients. Globally, of FTI Consulting has 5,500 employees located in 27 countries. Local teams of Delta Partners will in the coming months be integrated into FTI Consulting’s local offices. 

“This move strengthens our strategy consulting offering and significantly bolsters our business transformation and transactions capabilities,” Taylor added. 

As part of the integration, Delta Partners’ Chief Executive Officer Victor Font will join FTI Consulting as a Senior Managing Director and will serve as co-leader of the Corporate Finance & Restructuring segment’s TMT industry practice alongside Luke Schaeffer. Font co-founded Delta Partners together with Kristoff Puelinckx in 2006 – both were previously partners at Oliver Wyman (then DiamondCluster).
