Impact Advisors, a Chicago-based healthcare consulting firm, has welcomed James McHugh as a managing director. He brings more than 15 years of consulting experience in the healthcare industry.
McHugh will be responsible for leading and expanding the firm’s revenue cycle practice, as well as the digital offerings in the performance excellence service line.
He previously spent four-and-a-half years at Navigant (now Guidehouse), where he was a managing director. He most recently served as healthcare innovation & digital optimization team leader, where he oversaw digital initiatives at healthcare business units, utilizing emerging technologies such as AI, machine learning, and robotic process automation.
Before that, he was Navigant’s revenue cycle business unit leader, where he oversaw business unit operations, strategic planning, internal development, sales, and client engagement delivery.
McHugh joined Navigant in 2016 when the firm acquired McKinnis Consulting services, a healthcare consultancy where he was a co-founder and managing director. At McKinnis, he led sales and delivery and oversaw many of the company’s largest accounts.
Earlier in his career, McHugh was an associate at Huron Consulting Group, where he focused on revenue cycle operation redesign and net revenue improvement. He holds an MBA in health administration from the University of Colorado and a BBA in finance from Loyola University Chicago.
