Global tech consultancy Cognizant has acquired Collaborative Solutions, a Reston, VA-based provider of Workday consulting services.
Founded in 2003, Collaborative Solutions is one of the longest tenured Workday partners. Workday is a leading cloud enterprise resource planning (ERP) system for finance and human resources.
Collaborative helps private and public sector clients leverage the software to transform their management of finance, human resources, and organizational change. The company has worked on over 800 Workday deployments in more than 125 countries, working with government and educational organizations, medium-sized enterprises, and Fortune 500s. Collaborative has more than 1,000 employees in 16 offices across North America, Europe, and Asia-Pacific.
The acquisition establishes a new practice area in the Workday ecosystem for Cognizant, which has global headquarters in Teaneck, NJ. “Collaborative Solutions, with its rich expertise and leading position in the Workday ecosystem, expands our opportunity in cloud by establishing a new practice area in this large, fast-growing market,” Greg Hyttenrauch, president, digital systems and technology, Cognizant. “Our combined strengths in cloud strategy and enablement will differentiate our offering, positioning us to provide full support to clients throughout their digital transformation journey.”
Carroll Ross, CEO of Collaborative Solutions, commented, “As one of Workday’s longest-tenured services partners, we have expertise, depth, and proficiency in driving true finance and HR transformation. Together with Cognizant, we will provide even greater scope and scale, helping extend our capabilities for clients to accelerate innovation in their digital agendas and optimize their Workday investments.”
The deal is expected to close in the second quarter of 2020. The financial terms of the transaction were not disclosed.
Cognizant snapped up three Salesforce consultancies earlier this year: Indianapolis-based Lev; France-based EI-Technologies; and Atlanta-based Code Zero. The firm last year acquired cloud consultancy Contino and life sciences consulting firm Zenith Technologies.
Workday consultancies have attracted attention from larger suitors this year. Accenture in January bought Sierra-Cedar’s Workday practice, adding approximately 275 professionals.
