Corbin Advisors hires Kristen Phillips as VP of non-profit advisory

Corbin Advisors, a strategic communications and research consulting firm, has hired Kristen Phillips as vice president of non-profit advisory. She will be based in the firm’s Hartford, CT headquarters.

Phillips will be responsible for growing Corbin Advisors’ non-profit practice and will report to Robert McConnaughey, SVP, investor relations advisory and community impact. She will also advise non-profit organizations on increasing key stakeholder engagement, fundraising, overall effectiveness, and community impact.

Phillips brings more than 30 years of corporate, public sector, and non-profit experience. She joins Corbin from Lincoln Financial Group, where she spent more than 15 years and most recently served as SVP of corporate marketing, communications, and strategy. In the role, Phillips oversaw the company’s brand marketing and advertising, internal and external communications, and consumer market research.

Phillips also previously spent three years as president and CEO of the Hartford Symphony Orchestra, leading and managing the orchestra’s administrative operations, including marketing, finance, operations, development, education, and HR.

Earlier in her career, she was VP of management consulting at AIG American General, where she led a team of 18 internal consultants working on strategic initiatives. Before that, Phillips was a senior consultant at EY and PwC.

She has a master’s degree in public policy from Harvard University and a bachelor’s degree in economics from Texas A&M University.
