Enterprise AI firm has acquired Boston Consulting Group’s Source AI, a solution which enables businesses to build, deploy, and monitor end-to-end artificial intelligence solutions.
The firms also announced a new strategic partnership, which will combine DataRobot’s enterprise AI platform with BCG’s data and AI experts. The partnership will help clients accelerate and optimize the value from AI deployments, while also working to codevelop industry specific applications.
Source AI was founded by BCG to help data scientists write code and enable organizations to more easily build AI solutions. The platform allows analytics teams to quickly aggregate data from different sources, collaborate securely, develop and deploy models, run parallel analyses, and generate reports and dashboards.
BCG Gamma, the consulting firm’s data science division, recently used Source AI to build a Lighthouse, a decision support and scenario planning tool for the Covid-19 pandemic.
DataRobot will use the Source AI technology to bolster its platform, which offers end-to-end automation for building, deploying, and managing machine learning models. Founded in 2012 and based in Boston, the firm also offers software implementation, training, and support services. DataRobot currently has $431 million in funding from top-tier firms, and acquired three companies last year.
“We’re excited to team up with BCG’s world-renowned data scientists and consultants to help organizations drive greater value from their AI projects and realize the full potential of AI,” says Jeremy Achin, the CEO and a cofounder of DataRobot. “We’ve been impressed with what the SOURCE AI team has been able to achieve and look forward to tapping their expertise to further innovate at DataRobot.”
Sylvain Duranton, global leader of BCG Gamma, added, “In today’s world, AI is a critical and strategic business opportunity. Companies that remain resilient and competitive must have the ability to successfully build and manage machine learning models. BCG is thrilled to partner with DataRobot given our shared vision for making AI a reality for more organizations.”
