Guidehouse adds Dan Hahn as leader of global energy providers practice

Management consultancy Guidehouse has welcomed veteran consultant Dan Hahn as a partner and leader of the firm’s global energy providers practice.

Hahn will lead a global team of 350+ professionals serving the world’s largest utilities, power generators, oil and gas majors, and gas distribution and pipeline companies. The practice provides strategy and transformation solutions to clients navigating the energy transition, and is located within the larger energy, sustainability, and infrastructure (ES&I) segment at Guidehouse.

Hahn joins Guidehouse from technology consulting giant Accenture, where he spent the last 25 years. He most recently served as a managing director responsible for the utilities, oil & gas, chemicals, and natural resources practices in the Midwest region. In the role, he achieved 20% growth in the last three years.

During his long tenure at Accenture, he also delivered support in strategy, business operations, and digital transformation to clients in a range of industries outside of energy, including automotive, industrial equipment, financial services, and media.

Guidehouse adds Dan Hahn as leader of global energy providers practice

“Dan recognizes that the market landscape for utilities and energy companies is rapidly transitioning to one that requires new and cleaner energy products and services, improved resilience, and more control over energy costs for their customers,” said Jan Vrins, leader of Guidehouse’s global ES&I segment. “I am confident he will enable our energy provider clients to put the right strategies in place to advance their businesses, implement new operating and regulatory models and advanced solutions, and create new customer and shareholder value.”

Guidehouse’s ES&I segment serves energy providers, governments, and civilian agencies responsible for land, resources, and infrastructure. The 700-person segment has largely been formed out of the personnel of Navigant, which was acquired by Guidehouse last year. The 5,000-strong consulting firm provided advisory, outsourcing, and technology services to highly regulated industries – primarily healthcare, financial services, and energy.

The $1 billion+ acquisition greatly strengthened the private sector capabilities of Washington, DC–based Guidehouse, the former PwC Public Sector practice which was purchased by Veritas in 2018. The firm had 2000 employees across 20 US locations delivering management and technology consulting services to government clients, including federal, state, and local agencies. Today the firm has 7,000 employees in more than 50 locations across North America, Europe, the Middle East, and Asia.

“I am thrilled to be a part of Guidehouse and am looking forward to becoming a trusted advisor to our clients as they embark on the next step of their journey in today’s evolving energy landscape,” Hahn said.
