Bovill, a London-headquartered financial services regulatory consultancy, has made its first New York appointment. Regulatory compliance expert Joe DiGiglio has joined the firm as a managing consultant.
Bovill was founded in 1999 as a specialist firm of compliance consultants, and has since grown to a global financial services regulatory consultancy with over 80 staff. The firm advises startups, investors, and acquirers on regulatory strategy, and remains a trusted adviser to numerous long-term clients on compliance. Bovill has offices in London, Singapore, Hong Kong, and Chicago, having opened the Chicago location in 2017.
The addition of DeGiglio as a New York-based managing consultant signals the firm’s continued commitment to growing its US business. DeGiglio brings fifteen years of experience in regulatory compliance to the firm, and joins from Cadre, a digital marketplace for commercial real estate investing, where he served as senior compliance officer. Before that, he was senior principal consultant at ACA Compliance Group, where he focused on large diversified financial firms and private funds, advising on compliance policies and procedures.
DeGiglio also held internal compliance roles at boutique broker-dealer Woodlawn Advisors, $1 billion structured products hedge fund XE Capital Management, and Goldman Sach’s private wealth management team.
He holds a JD from Brooklyn Law School and a BA from the University of Delaware.
“We’re delighted to welcome Joe to our team,” Ben Blackett-Ord, CEO of Bovill, said. “Global regulation of financial services companies is ever increasing, and we look forward to the extension of our practice in the US through Joe’s presence in New York. This appointment will enable us to improve the service we can currently offer from our US office in Chicago to our clients on the East Coast.”
DeGiglio said, “I’m really excited to be joining a firm with the immense depth of talent and impressive array of clients that Bovill has to offer. This is a challenging yet critical time to be joining a financial regulation consultancy, as financial sectors all over the world face unprecedented challenges brought about by Covid-19. I am looking forward to bringing local knowledge of the New York market to Bovill’s offer, and to serve and develop its client base here in the US.”
