Rimkus Consulting Group, a Houston-based forensic engineering and technical consulting firm, has acquired Capital Consulting International (CCI), a London-headquartered consultancy specializing in delay and quantum advisory for the insurance and construction industry.
CCI’s delay, quantum, and technical experts have been helping clients resolve complex insurance and construction claims for over 25 years. The firm’s advisory offerings span construction claims management, strategic loss management, dispute resolution, project monitoring, and expert services.
CCI advises on projects in infrastructure, buildings, manufacturing, power generation, tunneling, oil and gas, marine, and mining. The firm has 115 professionals across 17 locations in the UK, UAE, Singapore, Australia, and New Zealand.
Rimkus’ acquisition of CCI will strengthen the firm’s UK operations while expanding its footprint into the UAE, Singapore, Australia, and New Zealand.
“We have been looking for the right opportunity to introduce the Rimkus name in areas where we have not been represented prior to this acquisition,” said Curtis Brown, chairman and executive director of Rimkus Consulting Group. “CCi’s unparalleled reputation in helping its clients resolve construction claims and disputes and geographic footprint greatly expand our capabilities worldwide.”
Robert Kocher, president and CEO of Rimkus, added, “As our clients continue to expand, we understand the importance of growing both geographically in reach and services. As we join our teams together, we’ll share the same values of providing specialized approaches and client-first relationships.”
Rimkus has more than 1,110 people across offices in the US, Canada, and the UK. The firm provides forensic engineering, technical consulting, and expert witness services to insurance companies, law firms, corporations, and government agencies.
“Joining forces with Rimkus allows us to significantly expand our core skill sets, especially our forensic engineering and technical disciplines on insurance claims and construction disputes around the world,” said Alan Purbrick, CEO of Capital Consulting International. “We’re looking forward to being able to deliver our triumvirate of services of time, cost, and engineering on a truly global basis, utilizing the resources and geographic reach that Rimkus affords us.”
Rimkus last month acquired Loss Management Solutions, a Southlake, TX-based consulting firm specializing in commercial property insurance claims. The firm also this year bought Sullivan Engineering, a New York-based building envelope consulting firm, and M & E Engineering Consultants, a Toronto-based firm specializing in mechanical, electrical, and fire safety engineering for buildings.
