SierraConstellation adds Colby Whitlow and Stuart Miles in Dallas office

SierraConstellation Partners (SCP), a national interim management and advisory firm, has hired Colby Whitlow as a senior director and Stuart Miles as a senior associate in its Dallas office.

In his new role, Whitlow will advise companies and creditor groups on complex restructuring matters. He brings more than 11 years of financial advisory and corporate finance experience, with expertise in restructuring, operational turnarounds, performance improvement, M&A, and financial modeling and forecasting.

Whitlow joins SCP from FTI Consulting, where he spent three-and-a-half years in the corporate finance and restructuring practice, latterly serving as a director. Before that, he spent over two years at Deloitte, where he was a senior consultant in the strategy and operations practice.

Earlier in his career, Whitlow held financial analyst roles at NCH Corporation and the Army and Air Force Exchange Service. He holds an MBA from Texas A&M University and a bachelor’s degree in accounting and finance from Oklahoma State University.

Miles will work with companies in transition to solve financial and operational challenges. He brings nearly 10 years of experience in financial services and energy.

Miles joins SCP from Morgan Stanley, where he spent the last four-and-a-half years as a senior associate focusing on structuring equity portfolios, alternative investment research, and securitized lending strategy. Before that, he was an associate at UBS and an analyst at Cypress Environmental Partners.

Miles has a bachelor’s degree in economics and finance from Texas Christian University.

“We are thrilled to welcome Colby and Stuart to SCP and look forward to seeing the Dallas office thrive with the addition of their talents,” said Larry Perkins, founder and CEO of SierraConstellation Partners. “We have spent a great deal of time and effort thoughtfully building out our presence in Dallas, Houston, and the Southwest in recent years.”

SCP launched its Dallas location in 2019 under the leadership of managing director Carl Moore. The firm recently bolstered its Houston location with the hiring of managing director Taylor Sherman.

“Having two talented and capable new team members like Colby and Stuart join me in Dallas is going to give us much more runway for expansion in this market, and I can’t wait to get to work with the new team,” said Moore. “We have an opportunity in Dallas and the Southwest to bring SCP’s hands-on counsel for companies in transition to a wider range of clients and carry on the growth of the firm.”

Founded in 2013 and based in Los Angeles, SCP provides services in interim management, financial restructuring, turnaround management, and performance improvement. The firm has approximately 40 people across offices in LA, Seattle, Dallas, Houston, Chicago, Boston, and New York.
