Alvarez & Marsal Taxand – the tax advisory affiliate of consulting firm Alvarez & Marsal – has welcomed international tax expert Lewis Greenwald as a managing director.
Greenwald joins the firm’s international tax practice, and will be based in Miami and New York. He brings more than 30 years of international tax experience to A&M Taxand, where he will help clients with US international tax planning, tax compliance and controversy, and transfer pricing.
Greenwald’s appointment will help A&M Taxand meet growing demand for cross-border tax compliance – driven by increasingly complex and shifting regulations.

Greenwald previously spent more than two years at law firm DLA Piper, where he was a partner in the international tax counsel group. His work in the practice involved tax efficient acquisitions, intellectual property migrations, transfer price planning and compliance, and cross-border currency transactions, among other areas.
Before that, he was a partner at law firms Mayer Brown and Sullivan & Worcester. Greenwald also spend time as a partner at PwC.
He holds a BA from New York University, an MBA from Rutgers University, and a JD from Fordham University School of Law. Greenwald has a license to practice law in New York and Massachusetts, and is a certified public accountant in New York.
Greenwald is a frequent writer and speaker on international tax matters, and currently serves as a member of the National Foreign Trade Council.
