Deloitte buys media technology consulting firm NTC

Deloitte US has acquired National TeleConsultants (NTC), a Glendale, CA-based technology consulting firm focusing on the media and entertainment industry.

Founded in 1981, NTC delivers technology consulting, design, and systems integration services to program producers and distributors, video-focused technology companies, television stations, institutions, and government agencies. The firm helps clients solve media system challenges, create custom software solutions, and transition to cloud, new formats, and new distribution platforms.

NTC has more than 50 employees, according to LinkedIn.

Deloitte’s acquisition of NTC will add in-depth software engineering capabilities to the media and entertainment (M&E) practice within its consulting business.

“The NTC group has a lot of cloud expertise,” said John Footen, a managing director in Deloitte’s M&E practice. “We work together with them on some buildouts of facilities and our team has done a lot of the strategy, project management/program management-type work. So bringing NTC into the fold enables us to do all the various aspects of a program, including the engineering and implementation tasks as well.”

NTC leaders Peter Adamiak and Laurie Morse will join Deloitte as managing directors.

The Big Four accounting and consulting firm’s other significant acquisitions in the software and product engineering space in the last five years include Dextra Technologies and Hashedin Technologies.

The firm’s IT consulting acquisitions in 2021 include Oracle cloud infrastructure consultancy BIAS Corporation, industrial cybersecurity expert aeCyberSolutions, and antifraud technology company Terbium Labs.

“We are thrilled to join forces with Deloitte Consulting, and we look forward to helping our clients drive business agility through the power of market-leading technology,” said Adamiak and Morse.
