KJT Group names Richard Yates board director

Life sciences consultancy KJT Group has announced that Richard B. Yates will take on the position of board director. Yates is a business lawyer with expertise in carrying out legal, regulatory, and regulatory experience actions.

Yates is the founder of The Yates Law Firm, which operates in Rochester, New York. Previously, he served as independent director at VerdeMed, a Toronto-Based pharmaceutical cannabis company. Before that, he worked as counsel at Kessler Topaz Meltzer & Check, LLP, which specializes in the prosecution of complex litigation.

His career began as an associate at Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher, & Flom LLP and Associates, before moving on to Lehman Brothers, where he worked for four years as vice president and counsel. From there, he moved to chief legal officer at Manning & Napier. He holds a bachelor’s degree in political science from the University of Rochester and a JD from Brooklyn Law School.

Additionally, Yates serves on the board for several nonprofit organizations, including the Wilmot Cancer Institute, the American Diabetes Association, Episcopal SeniorLife Communities, and Allendale Columbia School.

KJT Group, which is based in Rochester, is an “evidence-based” consulting firm that focuses on life science clients. The firm was founded in 2007 and and is fully employee-owned. It employs nearly 50 people full-time. It was named one of Rochester’s top places to work in 2018, and in 2017 was named “Wealth of Health Employer of the Year.” It counts market research, market research case studies, and medical advisory council among its areas of expertise.
