Uva Coles launches inclusion-focused consultancy Inclusiva

Uva Coles has founded Inclusiva, a Philadelphia-area consulting firm specializing in diversity and inclusion (D&I) services.

A former higher education senior administrator and non-profit executive leader, Coles brings more than 25 years of experience developing inclusive workforce solutions. She has deep expertise in inclusive workforce innovations, cross-sector partnership development, strategic planning, fundraising, civic engagement, career management, and communications.

Inclusiva will offer services in D&I assessment, design, and sustainability; inclusivity training – including work on unconscious biases, team development, and organizational belonging; executive advising and coaching; and speaking engagements (e.g. keynotes, board retreats, and town halls).

Coles says she launched the consulting firm to help address the “triple pandemic” of healthcare, race, and social equity currently impacting business practices. “I could wait to transition to do this work more fully, as I initially envisioned, later in my career, or I could accelerate my transition and rise to meet the moment,” Coles told Technically, a technology news site focusing on the Northeast Corridor region of the US.

Uva Coles, Founder, InclusivaColes spent the last year-and-a-half at Widener University, where she was associate vice president for civic and global engagement. Before that, she spent nine years at Peirce College, serving in a number of senior admin roles, including VP of advancement & strategic partnerships, executive advisor on the D&I council, VP of student services, and dean of career management.

Prior to that, Coles spent nine years at Inroads, the country’s largest non-profit source of paid internships for diverse undergraduate students.

Coles holds an MSM in organizational leadership from Wilmington University and a BA in English from Claflin University.

“I am most excited about client-partners (we lock arms in this work) who begin by saying, ‘we’re not quite sure how to get there, but we understand the importance of committing to this journey,’” Coles added.
